Holocene - Oratorio, Video art and Evolution
A film concert in the form of an oratorio by author Majgull Axelsson, composer Jonas Bohlin and video artist Lars Siltberg. They travelled together during four weeks to Arctica with The Swedish Polar Research Secretariat expedition to Beringa in 2005. Their common impression and experience from the extreme environment of the arctic region constitutes the foundation for this cooperative project.
Premiere takes place at Berwaldhallen, Stockholm august 24. Performed by The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, choir and the mezzo soprano Malena Ernman conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen.
