Memory Bank

DNA, New York, 2007, in collaboration with Bridgeman Packer Dance
In Memory Bank, the alchemy of living form and virtual image expands into an exploration of time and its role in intimacy, identity, and perception.  The performers enter, exit and move within the video images projected on screens created from layers tulle and satin, conjuring up an other-worldly environment of memory and the subconscious. At times, their live and virtual selves are mixing, swirling, interfering, and colliding with each other.
Grammy Award-winning composer/percussionist Glen Velez has created an evocative, polyrhythmic percussion score rich in resonant textures.

Like a fashion week by TOMISLAV OSTRMAN

I really like this work, found it on Art Review - Like a fashion week. I think this is a synaestic moment for both the artist and the viewer. This is what fashion is about. To experience someones world, colours. A thrue storyteller.

Inspiration of the day - Alexander Rodchenko and the Russian Avant-garde

Alexander Rodchenko, the Russian avant-garde artist, abandoned painting in the early 1920s in favour of photography which he believed would better express the new visual and social realities emerging at that time. His experiments in photography and photo-collage influenced artists and photographers throughout the 20th century. This film by Michael Craig of Copernicus Films is a compilation of extracts from a larger documentary film about Rodchenko's search for new visual frontiers. It is part of a series of four documentaries about the Russian avant-garde.
